The craft
You can check it with a fingernail
Here’s the difference, and you can test it in about four seconds. Run a fingernail around the widest part of a moulded jar and you’ll feel a faint ridge where the two halves of the mould met. On a mouth-blown one you won’t, because there was never a mould.
Then hold it up to a window and turn it slowly. The wall varies by a hair, so the light bends a little differently as it goes round. Some people would call that a flaw. We think it’s the entire point.
